DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The great teacher B.K.S. Iyengar writes “we human beings live between two realities of earth and sky. The earth stands for all that is practical, material, and tangible. The sky stands for all that is possible, pure, and perfect. Our lives unfold in the space between, where WE ARE the compass, and true north is our journey toward Universal Reality”

For our Between Earth & Sky yoga retreat, we will work between the grounding forces of the beautiful red earth and the liberating forces of the expansive blue sky to create a unique arc of experience for each retreat participant. Morning yoga practices will be more vigorous with movement, breath, meditation. There will also be yoga philosophy teachings, guided breathing practices, guided relaxation (yoga nidrā) and sound meditation (crystal & Tibetan bowls and symphonic gong). Afternoon practices are workshop-style offerings to explore deeper dives into yoga practice and theory. These are optional, as some participants will choose to spend the afternoons quietly in nature or receive a spa treatment or anything else desirable. Evening practices will be slower and gentler, including some vinyasa, yin yoga, more breathing, and meditation.

By the end of our retreat, we will have revived our connection to not only nature, but to ourselves. All the practices and philosophy are aimed at increasing peace, good energy, and clarity to see where our “true north” is pointing us so when we return home, we know where to direct our rekindled inner fire.

In addition to our rich schedule of yoga theory and practice, we’ll gather Friday and Saturday evenings around the fire for community, additional meditation & inner work, and a little guitar and (possibly) singing! Nothing is forced and everything will feel just right.

Meals are all served in the Canyon Breeze Restaurant to our group at set times. Included in our retreat weekend are Thursday dinner (6:45pm), Friday & Saturday breakfast (9am), lunch (12:45pm), and dinner (5:30pm) and Sunday breakfast (9am).  We can’t wait for you to join us!

Yoga Nidrā: The Path to Turiya #2

REGISTER HERE

IN PERSON and LIVESTREAM!

Part two… more practices, more theory top support your spiritual path!
You’ve heard the term, but what does it actually mean? Nidrā, translated from Sanskrit, means “sleep”. How is “yogic sleep” different from regular sleep? Is it the same as meditation? What are the different “dimensions” of consciousness that we can access through this practice? There are multiple approaches to yoga nidrā, with different intentions, but all include the principle of letting the physical body relax completely while the mind remains alert. The body moves into the sleep state and the mind is guided through a process of calming, then is directed toward more subtle experiences. Paul will share the foundational theories of yoga nidrā and guide students through several practices. Practices include light āsana and breath work, then students lay down on yoga mats for yoga nidrā.

  • Yoga nidrā for relaxation, healing, sharpening cognition, and spiritual awakening

  • Sankalpa shakti (the power of resolve); how to increase capacity of will and determination

  • Differences between yoga nidrā and traditional meditation

  • Yoga nidrā and the koshas; how to address each layer of our being

  • The four states of consciousness

Meditation & Breathwork Immersion Weekend - St. George, UT

Paul leads a two-night / three-day breathwork and meditation immersion weekend at Red Mountain Resort in St. George, Utah. 6 meals included (Friday dinner, Saturday all three, Sunday breakfast & lunch), two nights (both single and double occupancy rates available), all practices, workshops and teachings with Paul, along with all amenities at the resort included!

Aimed at those who have some experience with meditation and breathing practices and seasoned meditators! Now that you have a personal, working knowledge of calming the mind and emotions on a regular and consistent basis, it’s time to dive deeper, in a serene natural environment that will provide self-nourishment and learning, in a retreat-type weekend experience. This intermediate-level meditation course is a multi-part immersion for those who are interested in the science and mechanics of the techniques available to us, and how to use this knowledge to create specific, intentional practices for yourself and if desired, for others in a teaching environment. Content draws from the “three rivers” of classical yoga, tantra, and ayurveda, woven together into practices including prānāyāma, kriya, bandha, mudrā, mantra, yoga nidrā / deep relaxation, visualization, affirmation, and others. Students will learn how to “sequence” meditation methodologies and to select specific techniques to achieve intended results. This immersion includes discussion/lecture, practical experience doing the techniques, and some experience leading others through the practices.

**COMING SOON** Yoga Philosophy 201: Buckle Up for a 25hr Deep Dive!

$495

The first time we offered this course, earlier this year, it was such a popular offering and well attended that we are offering it again starting July 8, and this time expanded from 20 hours to 25… still CE-accredited with Yoga Alliance. Hosted by Kintsugi Yoga in Las Vegas and live-streamed (and recorded) via Zoom, this course will take place twice a week for 12 sessions. Saturdays 3:30 - 5:30 and Mondays 5:30 - 7:30pm. All sessions will be available in-person in Las Vegas and real-time via Zoom, and recordings of all sessions (along with course materials) will be provided to all participants.

Are you interested in the theory, intentions, and history behind the practices of yoga that we love doing? Is yoga more to you than just physical movements, stretching and sweating? Join Paul as he guides an exploratory journey into the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of classical yoga, in a holistic sense, with the aim to understand yoga as a worldview. How can we use these ancient teachings to inform our daily actions and modify our lives for the better? Is it actually possible to reduce suffering while navigating this chaotic world? Is life fair? Do we truly have free will? The study of yoga philosophy gives us these answers and more.

Texts for study will include:

  • Yoga Sutras of Patañjali

  • Bhagavad Gita
