Meditation is not “making your mind go blank!” It’s a practice of learning to focus the mind, and there are many ways to do it! This class concentrates on the subtler aspects of yoga: the science of breath as management of our energy, thoughts, and emotions; practices of guided and silent meditation to further calm the mind and access more peace, and discussion of the underlying philosophy of yoga to develop comprehension around the history, intentions, and teachings of yoga as a roadmap for life. Class will generally start with a talk relating to the ancient and/or modern yogic texts, then students will learn one or more breathing techniques (prānāyāma) followed by meditation.

Vinyasa yoga classes are focused on linking the breath and the postures in an effort to reduce stress, fatigue, and create a sense of calm while giving you a good workout. This 75 minute class leads you through a series of flowing postures designed to build heat and strength. This practice creates long, lean muscles while also improving circulation and mobility. As you mindfully link breath and movement you will feel energized and powerful. These classes begin to encourage practitioners to explore getting upside-down and may incorporate some arm balances and deeper backbends. Feel free to take breaks when you need it. Be ready to smile and not take yourself too seriously. This class is heated to a comfortable 85°.

This class This 75 minute class will have you moving through various yoga asana, allowing you to use this time to let you move your body to still your mind.
